Jason Centolella
Jason is the founding shareholder of Centolella Law, P.C. and is a local expert in healthcare law. His primary areas of practice include healthcare law, business law, mergers and acquisitions, and equipment leasing law. He represents hospitals, physicians and physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, clinically integrated networks, accountable care organizations, physician organizations, independent practice associations, dialysis centers, laboratories and private equity firms in all aspects of healthcare law including clinical affiliations, mergers, acquisitions and sales of facilities, state and federal regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse compliance, joint ventures between hospitals and physicians, physician recruitment and contracting, medical staff matters, and HIPAA compliance. In
connection with these matters, Jason routinely acts as a trusted advisor to the leaders and boards of hospitals, accountable care organizations, clinically integrated networks, and other large healthcare institutions. He frequently acts as outside general counsel to such institutions.
Jason is a trusted advisor in providing strategic and other advice relating to health reform, including formation of accountable care organizations and joint ventures between providers and payors and issues pertaining to exchanges, new provider/payor payment arrangements. He was counsel to five of the original Medicare Shared Savings Program Accountable Care Organizations. Additionally, he is counsel to two of the first New York State Certified Accountable Care Organizations.
In the business law area, Jason acts as legal counsel and a business advisor to many upstate New York and regional businesses. His experience includes contract review, loan documentation review, licensing agreements, succession planning, buy-sell agreements, negotiating and drafting operating agreements and shareholder agreements, joint venture formation, and private placements.
Additionally, Jason represents equipment lessors, vendors, lenders, and lessees in all areas of equipment leasing law. This includes transaction due diligence, drafting lease documentation, forming captive leasing companies, purchase and sale of lease portfolios, recovery of equipment in default scenarios, and disputes regarding lease-end options. He acts as outside general counsel to two of upstate New York’s largest equipment leasing companies.

Eric Bronstad
Eric Bronstad practices in the areas of healthcare law, business law, and commercial real estate. He is a nationally recognized expert in all legal matters affecting Dental Service Organizations. Eric has over 10 years of experience as in house counsel to a large Dental Services Organization handling all of the company’s real estate lease work, general corporate legal matters including regulatory review and support to the expansion of dental practices in dozens of states, support of the company’s finance department, regulatory matters including attorneys general investigations, class action lawsuits and dental board inquiries, and corporate compliance and support of the company’s M&A work, including the acquisition of an urgent care business line. Eric has extensive experience handling the negotiation of small and large shop retail shopping center leases, as well as right to build, landlord-tenant disputes, collections and financing matters.
In the area of healthcare law, Eric counsels entities in a wide variety of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations, general employment matters, services agreements and general policies and procedures. He also advises clients on daily compliance and regulatory matters, with a focus on the application of the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Stewart Weisman
For the past twenty years, Stu’s practice has concentrated in the areas of healthcare and labor and employment law stemming mainly from serving as general counsel to a large cardiovascular group. As a healthcare attorney, Stu provides advice and guidance on a wide-range of matters, including physician employment and professional services agreements, mergers and acquisitions, office and equipment leases and purchase agreements, human resource and healthcare regulatory matters under HIPAA, Stark and Anti-kickback, ADA, FMLA and the Fair Labor Standards Act, and assisting in the formulation and implementation of corporate policies, such as records retention and prevention of sexual harassment at the work place.
Stu is also a seasoned litigator with broad experience in federal and state trial, bankruptcy, and appellate courts, as well as administrative agencies. This combination of transactional and litigation experience gives Stu a unique perspective which can be employed to best serve clients.
In addition to his work at Centolella Law, Stu is a director on the boards of the Legal Aid Society and Legal Services of Central New York not-for-profit corporations serving indigents within a thirteen-county area, is a member of the Northern District Mediation Panel, is a frequent lecturer for CLE courses (see, e.g., www.lawline.com/course/the-ethics-of-e-mails-texting), and is a Professor Emeritus of Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Studies at Cazenovia College.

Leah Sharkey
Leah Sharkey is an associate at Centolella Law, P.C. Her practice focuses primarily on healthcare legal matters, including but not limited to HIPAA, employment matters, federal and state fraud and abuse issues, compliance and state regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and corporate governance. Additionally, Leah represents clients in litigation related to business disputes. Leah understands the complexities that may come with litigation and assists her clients reach favorable resolutions.
Prior to joining Centolella Law, Leah worked in civil litigation law firm where she focused on insurance defense and toxic tort cases. Leah also served as an Assistant District Attorney in Oswego County. Through her prior experiences, Leah gained significant knowledge in the discovery process, negotiation, and governmental compliance.
